Don't work for GP

I changed my review after working there. C+. The safety department did not meet my expectations. They put me in an old dirty tractor that had window coverings held in place with duct tape. My battery bank gave out on my first run. It took two days to get them replaced. My attendance is perfect. I was fourth out of 348 drivers for mileage per month and first in miles per gallon fuel efficiency for my vehicle class. I never had a driving violation and never failed an inspection. My driving, like always, is exemplary. Safety, a non-CDL driver, was micromanaging. In our first safety meeting, it was indicated I should not advocate for myself and anyone that disagrees with her would be fired. She objected to things that were safe and completely legal. She became disgruntled and retaliatory when I objected to her errors and overreach. There were three safety department adversaries in our last meeting. Because of the nature of the safety department's behavior we mutually agreed to a parting of our paths. Again, I have workable solutions for mutual consensus if you're willing to return to the table.

News on this newer company

The pay, the benefits , the equipment all sounds good and they seem like a good company to work for but if you have any sort of misdemeanor on your record even ones from before you started driving DO NOT APPLY. You're just wasting your time with filling out an app. I e been hired by 3 well known companies even though they knew I had a misdemeanor and hired me any way. I don't see how GP Transco can stay in the industry if they are looking for drivers with spotless records. Most drivers have had at least one thing on their record.

Good place to work

GP is a good company. Corporate is supportive. Something happens to the rig, they fixed it quickly. Pay is good. 3rd highest in the land. The truck is new. I get weekly bonuses for saving on fuel. I've had 2 dispatchers. Both were cool. They wanted me rolling as much as possible. I like it here so I'm staying.

Do your job to get a raise

I like this company and would love to see where it’s going in the future. All loads may fluctuate at the time but so does the economy. So far even at the lowest of freight, I still am able to stay active.

Good miles great pay

Been here for 3 months. Great place to work. Just like any other trucking job, dispatchers may vary. They have the miles for sure. Many lanes through the north and midwest.
