This Company Is LegitYour experience with the "other companies" has probably been like mine. The recruiter always sells you a bill of goods, that leads to a company; who is 100% not what you were told. If you're tired of being let down time and again by the others, give General Transport a call. If they appear to be what you've been looking for in a company, then believe me; they really are what you've been looking for in a company. From day one with speaking to Sandi in recruiting, to the pay and miles; it's exactly what I had been told to expect from GT. The entire staff, are great (shop, dispatch, and office included). Trust me, you will not be disappointed with your choice to join the team. My experience here, of course stemmed from that initial conversation with Sandi in recruiting. Thanks to her, I couldn't be any happier.

OwnerTo my General Transport family... I have been in this industry as a driver in many capacities over the past nearly 17 years. I obtained my CDL through the Prime, Inc. training program and jumped right into a lease purchase. I left Prime, returned and left again after I remembered just how much I hated being there. I moved around to a few different companies and then came home and for the first time became a company driver with Swift on their Walmart account here in Florida. After 4 months of absolute chaos I found calmer waters with NFI and stayed with them for a few years but I always wanted to have my own. In July of 2016 I purchased my first truck and leased on to a company here in Lakeland. Not satisfied with my experience there I tried another company which furthered my distaste for leasing my truck to a company. in late 2017 God put a great friend in my path one night while I was making a delivery and he offered me a deal I couldn't pass up running under his authority. I ran with him for a year and took the final leap and got my own authority in late 2018. 2019 proved to be a tough year and the cost of doing business on my own negated the joy of independence. Circumstances required yet another change. One that brought me to YOU! 2020 has been one heck of an interesting year. A global pandemic, lightning striking my truck, peace in the middle east and losing (IMO) the best president ever! But the best thing was the day I met Jimmy and he introduced me to General. I wasn't thrilled about leasing on to another company but I was hopeful. Ladies and gentlemen being here at General Transport has been the best, least stressful, most productive year for me and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done and continue to do for me. I pray for the best for us all in the 2021 and wish you all a fabulously happy new year! Please feel free to share this with anyone you please.
