I advise ALL potential applicants to stay clear of this company!

This company terminated me over the word of mouth of a proclaimed off duty highway patrol dot officer. There is no video evidence of the alleged behavior, I was given no chance to defend and argue the allegation, nor give any thorough rebuttal. This company now refuses to allow me to sit and speak with the proper personnel higher up in the corporate offices over the matter. I’ve been asking other drivers in this company for information about policy and rules and previous terminations in the past, as well as get insight on this conduct from the company. I’ve also contacted two NC highway patrol DOT officers about the entire situation, one being a supervisor, and per their statements, something doesn’t add up to the reported behavior and how it was handled. Cargo seems to only be covering their tail, at the expense of an exceptional drivers employment record and character. Meanwhile, cargo claims to have the best office staff and best drivers and best operation, but don’t all companies claim this? Cargo did not stand by their driver and only looked out for their interest. What I was accused of was false and I wasn’t given the chance to prove my innocence and overturn this decision. All over the word of mouth of someone, I’ve lost my career at cargo. My file was also pretty clean and free of violations, accidents, and repetitive disciplinary behaviors. The fact that cargo stands behind their decision and will not allow me to speak to the higher ups, reflects the companies character. I will continue speaking to other current drivers about this as well as highway patrol, and while it can always be exhausting mentally, I will seek legal advice over this matter. Cargo should dig deeper in their heart and soul of what they do to their drivers under these circumstances. But, these days what companies ACTUALLY stand behind their employees shy of just words. I think it says a lot that I now have numerous fellow drivers here worried about this happening to them, that anyone can simply call in a complaint of a behavior and just get terminated that quick and easy. There was NO investigation. What makes even less sense is that cargo continued to have me bring a load from just over an hour away, knowing of the reported behavior that supposedly occurred while bringing the first load up. Why would you have a driver continue driving when you’re about to terminate him over something that’s reported so unsafe and egregious, yet there’s no video proof. NC highway patrol of a different Troop has given me their insight into the matter and thoroughly explained to me protocol, procedure, and poked holes in the entire situation. Good job cargo for terminating an employee who devoted his time to your company and didn’t see this place as just another job but a place to at one point, be proud to work for. I don’t know how you sleep at night knowing the truth of how this was handled. I will continue to steer potential applicants away from this company and spread this situation around so others can make their own judgment. I have employee truck numbers and names if anyone is ever interested in hearing personal accounts of cargo transporters workplace experiences and personal opinions. Within the law of slander or defamation of character, I will continue to put out warning everywhere to all potential applicants who seek employment here of why they should pursue elsewhere. This will be brought to news media outlets as well as truck stops and further on. Drivers, take your TIME researching about companies policies and integrity and habits within the workplace before you just apply and begin employment with them.
