theyll screw you over

got into an accident over a forced dispatch, their camera saw everything to the driver driving away and the fired me for it. its slave work, they're so about safety till you mess up and they will fire you, you're nothing but another number.

The pay is excellent. The equipment is good. The majority of loads are Drop/Hook. The planners keep you moving. But the best thing at Barr-Nunn is that you are treated as a person, not a number behind a wheel!

I drive a company issued truck. I haul alot of LTL purchase freight. These loads are time sensitive, and we have to keep moving in order to keep on schedule. My wages have improved about 50% since comming to Barr Nunn, compared to previous trucking companies. I just returned a 2011 International with over 500,000 miles and was issued a 2015 Freightliner. The company cares about SAFETY, and will reward the drivers for safe, law abiding operation of their equipment. I would recomend this trucking company to a friend.

Much better than most

Barr-Nunn does so many things right, but does have a few areas where they could make some positive changes. The good?...excellent pay, a truly superior hometime plan, an awesome breakdown - pay policy that takes the panic out of the equation, dispatchers who know you and treat you with respect and good old Midwestern politeness. I could go on; there is lots to praise here. The bad ? No short-term or long-term disability insurance is offered, even at the employee's expense. The average age of a truck driver today is 56-57 years old, an age when surgeries and age related medical events (heart attacks, etc) are increasingly likely to occur. Offering this simple benefit would alleviate a lot of worry and fear about what would happen if a driver suddenly found himself unable to work for a month. Secondly, there is a lot of switching back and forth between day-time driving and night-time driving, often on back-to-back-to - back days, resulting in sleep deprived driving, and increased health risk due to inconsistent sleep patterns. But Barr-Nunn has shown a consistent pattern of finding ways to improve life for drivers, and these items I mention may one day change. Overall, I give them 4.5 stars....hey, nobody's perfect, but this is as close as you're likely to come.
