Nebraska jobs driving reefer trucks, also known as refrigerator trucks, to haul perishable food. In 2012, there were roughly 5.5 million reefer trucks in use. These types of refrigerator trucks can be cooled with the help of refrigerated systems, ice chilling, or by use of dry-ice (carbon dioxide as the cooling agent.) Jobs driving reefer trucks require a greater deal of responsibility than some other commercial driving positions. However, because of the more level of challenges in the job, salaries are typically higher than those of careers driving other types of trucks professionally.
