Michigan reefer truck driving jobs are a great field to jumpstart a career in the lucrative commercial trucking occupation. Reefer trucks, also known as refrigerated vehicles dominated the road with approximately 5.5 million on the road in 2012. Plus, as the population gets larger, the need for reefer truckers increases. These vehicles transport perishable goods through the process of ice chilling, dry-ice (carbon dioxide as a cooling agent), or by the help of refrigerated systems. This trucking job typically requires longer lengths of travel though than some other commercial truck careers. Despite the high level of responsibility required in this field there are higher salaries than drivers in other divisions.
