As the population increases; demand for reefer truck drivers in Kansas increase accordingly. In 2012 there were already reportedly about 5.5 million of these trucks on the road. Reefer commercial vehicles, also known as refrigerator trucks transport food that is perishable by means of refrigerated systems, ice chilling, or with the help of dry-ice (carbon dioxide as the cooling agent) methods. Reefer truck driving generally allows for substantially higher incomes than those of professional drivers in other commercial industries because there is a greater level of responsibility and generally longer distances they travel.
