Idaho jobs driving reefer trucks, also known as refrigerator trucks, haul perishable food all around the country. In 2012, there were roughly 5.5 million reefer trucks in use and the numbers are only increasing as the population grows. Careers operating reefer trucks require a greater deal of responsibility than some other commercial driving positions. However, because of the demanding nature of the job, salaries are typically higher than those of jobs driving other types of trucks professionally. These types of refrigerator trucks can be cooled with the help of refrigerated systems, ice chilling, or by use of dry-ice (carbon dioxide as the cooling agent.)
